US Open XI Announcements
Rules and Referees Seminar with Professor Alvaro Mansor
Over the years, the U.S. Open has acquired a reputation for the quality and fairness of the refereeing at the tournament. This is due in large part to Professor Alvaro Mansor and his tireless efforts to educate the Jiu-Jitsu community about the rules of BJJ and the yearly seminar he conducts prior to the tourney at the Claudio Franca Academy in Santa Cruz. We are proud to announce that once again Professor Alvaro Mansor, 4th Degree Black Belt and Director of Referees for the Confederation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, will be conducting a Rules and Referee seminar in order to help maintain and enhance the quality of refereeing at the U.S. Open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament.
The seminar is open to competitors and referees alike. Competitors should take this opportunity to understand the rules of the game in which you are playing. Knowing the rules gives you a competitive edge and also helps avoid misunderstandings over referee decisions. The price will be $50 For information on how to register for this seminar, please call (831) 476-7650. Also, Professor Mansor will be available for phone appointments to discuss the rules at the CFBJJ Academy beginning Monday October 16th up until Thursday Evening 8pm on October 19th. Please call the academy to set up an appointment to take advantage of this important resource.
