JJ Worlds stay in California :
JJ Worlds stay in California
Check out the calendar for 2008
Those that like to plan in advance may already mark the date on their calendars. The International Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) confirmed the dates and locations for the main competitions of 2008. Following the example of what happened this year, the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship will again take place in Long Beach, California. The only change is the month. Disputed in August of 2007, it shall be rolled back to the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th of June.
Maintaining the tradition, the first big competition will be the European Jiu-Jitsu championship, and once again it will be housed in the Casal Vistoso Sports Complex, in Lisbon, Portugal. The matches shall take place on the 26th and 27th of January, and unlike the Jiu-Jitsu Worlds, Brazilians will not need to go through the process of obtaining a visa to compete.
