No-Gi Worlds: Masters and Seniors champions defined
Black belt weight groups taking place right now; finals coming up later
The black belt Master and Senior 1 to 3 categories already have their champions. Many of Jiu-Jitsu’s greatest bests entered to fight and the bouts brought excitement at the No-Gi Worlds of 2008, which comes to a close later today in Carson, California.
Among the masters, Barret Yoshida (Undisputed) submitted Robson Rodrigues (Piccini) to take the featherweight title. At lightweight, Paulo Guilhobel (GH) defeated Wander Braga (Jorge Pereira) by advantage points. Among middleweights, Cleber Luciano (GH) defeated Hermes Franca (HFT) by disqualification after an illegal knee. Now in the medium heavyweight, Marcelo Santos (GB) submitted Andre Laughlin by foot lock. Among heavyweights, victory for Roberto Godoi (Godoi JJ) by 6 to 0 over Timmy Tomb (Street Sports). Jose Eduardo Correa (Barbosa), at super heavyweight, and Artur Ruff (BJJ Revolution), at ultra heavyweight, had no opponents and took their titles.

Featherweight: Vinícius “Draculino” Magalhães (GB) defeated Diógenes Farias (GB)
Lightweight: Jackson McVicker (GH) tapped Brian Johnson (NWJJ)
Middleweight: Emílio Emilio Samartin (Carvalho JJ) had no adversary
Medium heavyweight: Joseph Shelley (ND BJJ) defeated Alexandre Novaes (JPJJ)
Heavyweight: Ricardo “Franjinha” Miller (Alliance) defeated D. Davis (Fabio Santos)
Super heavyweight: Lloyd Irvin (LI) defeated Willian Messick (Boran JJ)
Ultra heavyweight: Luigi Mondelli (ATT) defeated Tony Bonello (GB)
