Samurai Pro Jiu-Jitsu Tournament


Samurai Pro is a professional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament hosted by Fabricio Werdum.
LONG BEACH, CA, May 8, 2011 – Fabricio Werdum is hosting the Samurai Pro Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament on May 8, 2011, starting at 9:30 a.m., at the world famous Long Beach Pyramid, located on the CSU Long Beach campus. The event consists of two tournaments: the Samurai BJJ Tournament, which is for white to brown belts and the prestigious Samurai Black Belt Pro Tournament. Cash prizes of up to $30,000 will be awarded to various winners in the blue, purple, and brown belt open classes, and to the victors of five different categories in the black belt division.

Fabricio Werdum, best known for his impressive and inspiring MMA Strikeforce win over Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko, is looking forward to hosting this celebrated event. “I am very excited to be part of such a great competition,” Werdum says, “With all the cash prizes being given away, I’m sure it will be the most successful and memorable Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament of 2011.”

Registration for the Samurai Pro ends Tuesday, May 3, 2011 or when registration has reached full capacity, whichever comes first. All competitors can register online at www.samuraijjpro.com . Registration fees are based upon date of registration.
Samurai Pro was founded in 2010. It was created by super-champion Fabricio Werdum, who is considered a leading expert in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, having won international and world Jiu Jitsu championship titles, including the Worlds and ADCC titles, multiple times, and his business partner and fellow Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, Lucas Pires.
