ADCC 2007 Day One Great fights a couple of upsets

Day One of ADCC went down with great technique, lots of submissions and a couple of upsets. Marcelo Garcia looked super-sharp submtting his two opponets while Andre Galvao did the same. Late invitee Mike Fowler scored two upsets first defeating Renzo Gracie by 2 negatives, then escaping what looked like a finishing rear naked to come back and submit Saulo via foot-lock.
Other in form fighters Leo Vieira, Braulio Estima, Marcio Pe de Pano, Fabricio Werdum, Barret Yoshida, really all the semifinalists had their 'A' game going.
In the ladies Megumi Fuji, Kyra Gracie, Tara La Rosa, Hannette Quadros, Kelly Paul and Penny thomas all advanced with great performance and Via Submission. Tomorrow more great fights and the super fight
