BTT NEWS

From Brazilian Top Team headquarter, foreigners comment.

With the approaching of the Mundials of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 2006, the BTT Lagoa is full of foreigner students from all corners of the world. Totally full during the BJJ sessions conducted by Murilo Bustamante, Eduardo Rios and Vava and a few others instructors- the students are sharpening their games to make the best possible during the competition which will start in next Thursday. Taking a look around the mats, we reach students from Sweden, USA, Belgium, Finland, Norway, England and many other countries searching for the best source of knowledge from the BJJ.

So this is the best moment for taking quotes from these students about the experience and the impressions they have about Brazil and the training at Brazilian Top Team. Training for the first time in Brazil, the American citizens Ted Connors, Jim Scianno and Giovanni Alfeo were our first interviewed. Talking about the opportunity of training in BTT they´ve the same opinion.

"This is a privilege for us to train here at BTT, the Jiu Jitsu practiced here is the best one in the World" agreed Connors, Scianno and Alfeo.

When we asked them about Brazil and the wrong impression people have about this country, regarding violence and dangerous place to come in, they talked a lot:

"I think I can´t get no better than I do here with this people, they are very friendly and open arms for us, I do not have problems here." Alfeo

"This is one of the beautiful countries I ever saw in my life, I don´t see why people think about dangerous" Scianno

"There is nothing here that can make a person takes a decision of not coming anymore, the environment here is perfect and I can talk, move to train here"

Connors

These three nice competitors are students of Marcos da Matta(aka Parrumpinha) so they already had an idea of how would be Brazil. So we added more quotes with Norway viking Andreas Lagaard: "The level of jiu jitsu here is unquestionable, with only one training here we can reach a lot of positions and secrets, we find very good people here. I didn´t see anything about violence. I still didn´t walk around all the town. But Rio de Janeiro is a big city and all big cities has good places and bad places to go"

From Belgium and to finish this "foreigners´ impression" we took the funny Strykowski Cëbriel. Strykowski was, affectionately, nicknamed by his friends of Brazil as Camarão(shrimp) and he has difficulties of communication due to a small lack of dominance of the Portuguese and the English languages: "The BJJ here is nice for training and for watching, I don´t have many comments about the level, this is so high. The Brazil is a calm country, and even I don´t talk English or Portuguese perfectly, people treat me very well - we need to take care of us such as we take in any other place of the World. The only stuff you need an extra care is the woman, they´re so gorgeous and you can lose your concentration here"(laughs)

So if you hesitated in any moment on coming to Brazil this year, don´t it anymore. Don´t miss the chance of visiting a nice country, with friendly people, and visit the academy where you can play and learn BJJ with the best, the BRAZILIAN TOP TEAM
