IBJJF Comments on Mike Fowler incident on the 2006 Worlds

A release from the IBJJF regarding the controversial match between Mike Fowler and Daniel Moraes. Alvaro Mansur Technical Director of the IBJJF stated that the referee Cabelinho will be sanctioned: 'A referee of Cabelinho's caliber cannot make a mistake like that adn for that reason he will be sanctioned. Although it is humanly impossible' the Federation seeks to remove all mistakes from matches. We try to review and pursue every major mistake so we can correct and improve in the future. Those referees commiting the major mistakes are open to sanctions such as in this case. Cabelinho is suspended and will now be refereeing for the next 3 events! '
