GRAPPLING BY FILA :

SubGrappling recognized by FILA
Commitee will be responsible for regulation of the sport

Submission grappling is the newest modality recognized by the Fédération Internationale de Luttes Associées ("International Federation for Associated Fights"), FILA, declared the entity's president, Raph Martinetti, directly from Switzerland.

According to Martinetti, a committee led by Sheikh Tahnoon, creator of the ADCC, and composed of other big names, among them Renzo Gracie, will make up the only entity in the world, aside from the national affiliates in each country, to organize Submission Grappling competitions, beyond the registrating athletes and popularizing the modality.

"FILA, is one of the oldest entities in the sporting world. It was a founder of the modern Olympic Games, with Olympic Wrestling.I believe this is a great step in gaining international recognition for the sport. Certainly the entity will work on improving the standardization of its rules throughout the world, and in creating great competitions. As soon as possible, we will regularize the situation of submission grappling in Brazil, which now with FILA's adoption of it, will become an official part of CBLA. I hope all involved in the area know that the Brazilian Fights Confederation's intention is to unite already existing organizations, to try and continue with 100% of our energy. In the end, even if we are strong divided, together we are invincible..." Pedro Gama Filho declared, the president of the Brazilian confederation of Olympic forms of wrestling (CBLA).
