KID NEWS :

Kid Peligro Jiu-Jitsu News . . . Saulo moving to Ca - European BJJ Tourney - Chad Beatty goes off - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Emirates Magazine
Submitted by: Kid Peligro

Rumors of Saulo and Xande Ribeiro's relocation to California, more specifically San Diego, have been floating around for months. For the longest time, they remained nothing but that . . . rumors. Things however appear to be changing, recently Xande Ribeiro spent a few days in San Diego scoping out locations before going to the North Shore to train at the Boar's Nest and now, Graciemag.com reports that Saulo announced the impending opening of what he calls: University of Brazilian Ju-Jitsu in that city!

What that means is that a city with an already strong contingent of BJJ instructors and schools will get that much stronger, with the presence of the current World Absolute Champion and his brother multiple times World BJJ and ADCC Champion.

Rumors of a huge influx of BJJ practitioners to San Diego may have already affected rent levels in that City : )

Speaking of Saulo - He has a new Black Belt

A few nights ago, Saulo gave his last seminar in Michigan at Focus Jiu Jitsu Academy in Ann Arbor (www.focusjj.tv) before he moves to San Diego,CA. Saulo's brown belt Sean Bansfield runs this Saulo affiliated school.

Saulo gave the participants the same mount lesson that Rickson gave him. GEneral coments were that you could spend a lifetime drilling those techniques and still not have them mastered.

Anyway, after the seminar, Saulo promoted Sean to Black Belt. Saulo took off his signature embroidered black belt and tied it around Sean's waist. Obviously, Sean was very pleased to have completed the long journey to black belt.

Sean started training in 1999. He got his blue belt from Ricardo De La Riva. He got all his other belts (purple, brown and black) from Saulo. Saulo has only promoted two American black belts, Chris Blanke and now Sean Bansfield.

Congratulations to Sean for his promotion to Black Belt by one of the best BJJ black belts in the world.
