JORDAN EURO NEWS:

An impressive finish for the Jordanian national team at the Europeans.



The first Middle East team to compete in the European Brazilian Jiu-jitu Tournament will be flying home with smiles on the face of 4 of thier team members. With only 6 competitors, the Jordanian team obtained 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals. "An extraordinary achievment for a team that has been training only Six months", explains Black Belt Zaid Mirza, who happens to be a Jordanian Armed Forces Consultant. "We are very glad that our athletes performed so well. This will give them a great boost of motivation to train harder and continue to compete in all major tournaments. Our goal is to turn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu into the number one fighting art in the Middle East", delivers Mirza.

The Jordanian Delegation accompanied by Jordan Armed Forces, General Mohammed Noor Miqdadi, also exchanged souvenirs with the organizers of the event awarding them with presents given from the Jordanian Armed Forces. They were handed to Mr. Marcelo Araujo (Director of IBJJF), Mr. Augusto Alvez da Silva (President of Portuguese BJJ Federation), and Master Alvaro Mansur (Director of Referreeing). A souvenir from JAF was also handed by Mr. Mirza to current Absolute World Champion Roger Gracie, recognizing his hard work and efforts as the number one BJJ fighter in the World.
