ADCC NEWS:

ADCC organizer positive about Brazilians
Guy Neivens believes there will be no surprises at qualifiers
ADCC organizer for the first time in 1998, Guy Neivens has his eye on Brazil. After all, in the beginning of next month, precisely on the 3rd and 4th of February, the Brazilian qualifiers for the 2007 edition of the greatest submission grappling event on the planet takes place. Although it is open to competitors from all South American countries, the competition will be mainly a stage for the Brazilian stars to shine. At least that is what Neivens thinks.

“The other Latin-Americans are not as renowned in this sport, only Brazilians, practitioners of Jiu-Jitsu and MMA," said the British director, then justifying his choice of Rio de Janeiro for the venue for the fights: "Rio is the home base for the best submission grapplers."

Eight spots (One for each of the eight weight groups) will be up for grabs at the qualifiers, which will take place at the Botafogo Football and Rowing club,
for the 2007 edition of ADCC, set for the first week of the month of may, in New Jersey, USA.
