2007 Worlds begins with record number signed up
If it is bigger, the Worlds is also more egalitarian. For the first time in 12 years, white belts will also have the chance to go home wearing a medal around their necks. The competitions on the eight fight areas (in 2006 there were six) kick off at nine o’clock this Thursday. The promoters expect a large audience in the gymnasium for two reasons.

The possibility of competing in the Worlds without having to go to Rio de Janeiro and, also, to see black belts like Xande Ribeiro and Roger Gracie competing near home.
